Infinity Systems Engineering is in search of two Satellite Operations Engineer to join our dynamic Infinity team in Melbourne, FL.

NOAA’s Polar Operational Environmental Satellites (POES) satellite system offers the advantage of daily global coverage, by making polar orbits nearly 14 times per day approximately 520 miles above the surface of the Earth. Currently, NOAA operates three POES satellites - NOAA-15, NOAA-18, and NOAA-19, all of which are out of propellant and cannot perform propellant based maneuvers.

NOAA requires the continuation of the POES satellite system, and seeks to migrate its core Command, Control and Communications (C3S) Capabilities to a Contractor-provided Ground System. Infinity will migrate and demonstrate the concept of operating Government owned meteorological satellites by means of a Ground System as a Service (GSaaS) capability. Our staff will provide satellite operations tasks for the PEL mission during transition to operations and operations.

Required Skills:

- Provide satellite operation during weekday periods (9am-5pm) with the ability to handle planned and unplanned situations as necessary.

- Perform mission planning, including contact scheduling, ongoing monitoring of the spacecraft and its payloads, satellite ground station, spacecraft telemetry analysis, configuration management, and anomaly investigation and recovery.

- Operate, monitor the health and performance, and investigate and resolve anomalies of the Multi-Mission Operations Center (MMOC) and PEL system cloud environment.

- Use Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), contingency operating procedures, and observatory planning rules/constraints to operate and maintain the POES satellites.

- Provide recommendations to revise SOPs, contingency operating procedures, and observatory planning rules/constraints that improve efficiency and effectiveness throughout the PEL contract period.

- Conduct post event analysis for all unique and infrequent activities within 24 hours of a completed flight activity.

- Notify the Government of the execution of any POES contingency procedures, on-orbit anomalies, and or other irregular items (e.g., limit violations) associated with the POES satellite or PEL system within 30 minutes of an identified event.

- Provide on-call services outside of the 9 x 5 weekday staffed MMOC time period to ensure the Government is notified within 30 minutes.

- Support POES satellite and MMOC related anomaly investigation and recovery.

- Provide an assessment of PEL mission operations performed by satellite operators, with an objective to reduce satellite

operator staffing at MMOC over time.

- Maintain and continuously execute the training and certification program after the PEL system begins independent operations.

- Perform yearly proficiency tests to ensure proper training, and validate routine and contingency procedures, and the PEL system configuration.
