Summary of Responsibilities:

Fulfill the NAVSATCOMFAC Lago Patria Teleport mission, including the following tasks:

· Manage Telecommunications Operations

· Operate and Maintain (O&M) Gateway/Teleport and MUOS Communications Systems

· Operate and Maintain Teleports MUOS - MLGC Systems Equipment

· Operate the AC2/SLM-5650B Modem Suite in conjunction with Navy Personnel

· Tier 2 Maintenance and IA support of the AC2/SLM-5650B Modem Suite.

· Provide Training

· Other Mission Support Functions

· Maintain Inventories

· Manage Circuit Actions

· Manage a Teleport and MUOS 3M preventative Maintenance Program


Have technical backgrounds and experience in satellite

communications operations and maintenance with primary emphasis placed on Teleport systems.

Ability to operate and maintain all assigned communications systems located at NAVSATCOMFAC Lago Patria, Italy 24 hours a

day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year regardless of weather conditions.

Activate, operate and configure all circuits, trunks, links, etc. as outlined in, but not limited to, the appropriate message traffic below:

· Satellite Access Authorization (SAA)

· Mission Directives

· Gateway Access Authorization (GAA)

· Telecommunications Service Order (TSO)

· Telecommunications Service Request (TSR)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related IT field; relevant work experience can be used to substitute formal education.

4+ years of industry-related experience, with at least 2 years of SHF, EHF and/or UHF satellite earth terminal system operation and maintenance;
